Earlier this year, we ran a contest – the Patchaimadi Thottam Challenge – inviting people to submit creative ideas on how to inspire 300 RWAs to take up rooftop vegetable gardens in their localities within the next 12 months. We received nearly 500 wonderful ideas, and awarded 20 contestants with starter gardening kits.
We followed up with some of the Patchaimadi Thottam Challenge Winners and were so pleased to receive photographs of their gardens!
Below are some of the images we received from Hemavathi G, Seetha Gopalakrishnan, Oinam Devi & Rob Peck, and S Raghu. Oinam has even shared a snapshot of the delicious pizza she’s made at home with fresh herbs from her garden!
As you can see, some of these idea champions already had beautiful terrace gardens to which they added their prizes, while others have just started out. We hope you are as inspired as we are to start a new garden or keep growing an existing one!
