Avg. HeightTomato plants are generally branched, spreading 60–180 cm (24–72 inches) and somewhat trailing when fruiting, but a few forms are compact and upright.

Climate & Humidity

Tomatoes are a warm season crop, and require warm and dry climate. The plants cannot tolerate high humidity. Also light intensity affects pigmentation, fruit colour, fruit set. It requires low to medium rainfall.

Transplanting

Soil Depth & Spacing Requirements

Seeds to be sprinkled over the nursery bed; soil sprinkled over the spread seeds; and seedlings to be maintained up to 25 days. Transplanting of seedlings to be done at 1 seedling per hole and spaced about 60 cm from each other.

Irrigation

Irrigation to be done 3 days after transplanting. After that, weekly irrigation or every 10 days irrigation to be followed, depending on the soil moisture.

Pruning

Towards the end of the season, prune older leaves to let in more light and prevent grey mold fungus taking hold.

Harvesting

When to harvest 
60 days from germination. Harvest the fruits when top portion of the fruits start ripening.

How to harvest
Cut the fruits from the plants with the help of scissors without damaging the fruit. Leave tomatoes on the plants so they can ripen naturally and improve in flavour.
